A large part of my 6-month preparation for my 1st ever RTW trip revolved around packing and making sure I was bringing along everything I would need for an entire year, straddling the fine line between overpacking and getting it just right. After speaking to several of my well-traveled friends, the consensus among them when it comes to packing is to bring as many versatile, multi-purpose items as possible.
